Stately Home Under Siege

Covert Combat Lazertag Lazer Combat Stately Home Under Seige

A new local business has put the grounds of a fine manor house under siege.  Fortunately, local residents and passers-by need not worry... its all in the name of fun!

Sancreed-based company Covert Combat, run by business partners Kevin Cooke and Rachel Reynolds, have opened an outdoor Lazertag site in the grounds (including open fields and woodland) of Trereife House/Trereife Park near Newlyn, Penzance.

Lazertag works on similar lines to paintball, but instead of firing painful projectiles, the guns fire harmless invisible infrared signals.  Advanced electronics in the “guns” register when players have been hit and “killed”.

Rachel Reynolds said “This system is really fantastic. Unlike paintball, where players ultimately play to protect their own interests (i.e. to avoid the pain of getting hit!), Lazertag encourages teamwork whilst still giving hours of fun and an adrenaline rush that is second-to-none. Because there is no pain involved, we’ve already welcomed a range of players, from as young as 6 to as old as 60!”

Kevin Cooke said “We are the first site in the Southwest to have this system.  Lazertag has come a long way since the somewhat archaic indoor systems that most people will have played before.  Our guns have a massive 130m (425ft) range, are extremely accurate (even registering ‘near misses’), and eliminate the need for players to wear bulky and uncomfortable vests.  Lazertag is the closest thing to a ‘live’ version of a computer game in existence, and has received incredible feedback from everybody who has played it so far.

Anybody who would like more information about outdoor Lazertag, or who would like to book a game, can contact Covert Combat on telephone (07716) 556 555.
